Funny how things come full circle. My first experience with EF Hutton was as a young Systems Engineer working from the New York office of my first employer. I was managing a project to install new computer systems and software at 350 EF Hutton stock broker offices around the country. At the time, EF Hutton was a household name known as the financial services company that stated, “When EF Hutton talks, people listen”. In their commercials, several young professionals would be socializing at a party and one party goer would be overheard saying his stock broker was EF Hutton, immediately the entire party would go quiet and everyone would be eaves dropping on what his broker advised him to do with his investments. Fast forward to today. You can imagine my surprise when I was informed that former executives from the company and EF Hutton’s grandson Stanley Hutton Rumbough had revived the EF Hutton brand with a client-centric, financial services startup based in Springfield, Ohio.
The company had been looking for a unified communications system and with an eye toward cost effectiveness and enterprise features, an open source solution was initially considered. As a financial services company, IT systems are important but not their core business so they began to look at commercial grade systems and support leading them to eZuce and our Uniteme unified communications products and services.
The initial requirement was for less than one hundred users with the ability to grow extensively on the same platform. The ability to support highly available communications and HD voice to guarantee and enhance their client interaction was very important. Support for remote and mobile workforce requirements was necessary to provide accessibility and flexibility to their employees.
After their initial testing and evaluation of the capabilities of Uniteme, EF Hutton selected eZuce and Uniteme to support their business requirements.
